Problem: Your cat carries food from her bowl to the floor Why it happens: Kitty might not like her bowl especially if it is made of plastic. Plastic hoards bacteria and passes on an offensive taste to food and water. Most cats have an allergy to plastic and develop a skin condition similar to acne. Solution: Change your cat’s bowl to a stainless-steel or ceramic bowl. If that doesn’t work, try various foods or a deeper bowl. Solution: Look for a scratching post. Position it right next to the furniture he likes to scratch until he learns what is okay to scratch and what isn’t. A big part of this leash-walking strategy is to be more appealing than the surroundings. Get excited when your dog looks at you. If it doesn’t work, stop walking when he pulls on his leash. He will turn to you and wonder what happened. Call his attention. Encourage him to go back beside you and make it the best possible place in the world. Do this until he learns. You can talk about...
