PetsSaying Goodbye to a Pet
Parting with someone you loved and grew emotional attachments to is the most painful thing that can happen in one's life. To whatever reason behind the parting maybe, goodbyes could really bring out sad emotions. Eventually we have to say goodbye to such as nothing in this world is permanent, even life itself is not permanent. I got a dog during my fourth year in high school. She was given to me by my cousin and I named her Pen-Pen. The strange thing was is that whenever she saw a stick she seems to get extremely scared of it. She might be thinking that she would get hit by it. I later found out, based on my cousin's stories that her grandmother used to hit all of the little puppies because of the stench of their leavings. Pen-Pen is usually hit by our grandmother and this is the probable reason of why she is so afraid of sticks right now. She eventually grew up to be a tame dog. She doesn't scare off our visitors that much even if she barks at them. I also have another dog who we named Cha-Cha. She is Pen-Pen's sibling and usually picks a fight with her. This is why we occasionally get mad at Cha-Cha for picking on the poor Pen-Pen. In some unexplainable reason Pen-Pen became sick. We don't have that much money that time to even consult a veterinarian. What my mom did was give her an antibiotic in high hopes that she would get better. She eventually did not and as the days go by her health deteriorated. Because of college, I left home but eventually visited them during the weekends. After the first week she got sick, I visited our house and saw her just lying her. I pet her and took pity of our dear pet's poor state. She gave me a pitiful look, an eye that said something like “I feel so bad right now”. I got teary eyed during that time can’t do anything for her. She rubbed her face to my hands just like saying “I miss you” which I said back to her “I miss you too.” After another week, I once again checked on her and my my told me that she already died during that week and she was buried at the backyard. I cried so hard because I missed her. I cried because I was not there during her last minutes of her life. I just felt bad because it took me few days before knowing what had happened. "Life must go on" my mother told me. It is for her sake that she already moved on to a better place now where she will no longer feel any pain or suffer any more. Partings are vital and it happens whether we like it or not. The fact that we miss the people or pets in this case that we love will definitely bring out longing feeling and can even gives us tears but we should learn to accept this and be happy for them. I hope we will all treasure our pets and be a responsible and loving pet owner. You can talk about...
